We all have emotions, and as humans, we’re going to have them for the rest of our lives. The work is in being able to experience them without becoming completely overwhelmed by them.

As we become more able to do this, suddenly the meltdowns happen less frequently. They are less intense and our kids are able to recover from them faster. Gone are the days where they happen at the flip of a switch, with no apparent buildup, over the most seemingly minor of things, and take hours, if not the whole day to recover from. Gone are the days where your kid feels a need to control everything, or where they are paralyzed by their anxieties.

As a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, we work together to help give your kid the tools to regulate their nervous system. To both help them have more capacity before becoming dysregulated and to simultaneously have the tools to regulate themselves so it doesn’t get so intense and they are more easily able to recover.

I involve parents throughout the whole process, working with you to provide a personalized course of action to help us achieve our goals as quickly as possible, and giving you actionable tools, strategies, and ideas to implement at home.
